The Seattle Seahawks have officially set their 53-man roster and completed the final waves of roster cuts. One notable player who did not make the team was veteran cornerback Trevon Diggs, who signed with the Seahawks in late August. Diggs had a solid training camp with the Seahawks in limited action, which included intercepting a pass in the only game he played.
Diggs was released by the Seahawks, however, Seattle always intended to immediately sign him to the practice squad per general manager John Schneider. Now, that plan is reality, as reported by NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
Sources: The #Seahawks have signed CB Trevon Diggs to the practice squad, as was always the plan. Diggs made his Seattle debut in the preseason finale and recorded an INT.

With Diggs on the practice squad, it's clear Seattle intends to elevate him at some point during the season. Perhaps he is there to get more reps and ramp up in Mike Macdonald's system, or be insurance after the Seahawks see what they have at cornerback already when the games start. Maybe a little bit of column "A" and "B."
Whatever the case may be, it's more than apparent that Seattle is not entirely satisfied yet with their cornerback position. The Seahawks lost Riq Woolen in free agency, and they might be rebuilding more than we initially thought.
