The Seattle Seahawks lost a nailbiter, dropping Sunday's Week 5 divisional game 32-29 by the San Francisco 49ers. A lackluster rushing attack once again let the Seahawks down. The offense needs Zach Charbonnet back healthy now more than ever before.
Veteran journeyman Emanuel Wilson led the backfield once again. He rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown via 20 carries. Wilson averaged an ineffective 3.1 yards per carry and lost a critical fumble. George Holani somehow managed to fumble twice on four touches, losing one.
The Seahawks have lost a league-high 13 fumbles. Running backs are responsible for four of them. Rookie Jadarian Price lost two fumbles before landing on IR. Wilson and Holani proved they have ball-security issues as well.
Unfortunately,
the Seahawks are on a short week. They'll play versus the Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football in Week 6. Head coach Mike Macdonald has already confirmed Charbonnet won't play in Denver.
That gives Charbonnet an extended period to potentially make his debut versus the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football in Week 7. The Seahawks will need him. Former Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III has more rushing yards for the Chiefs in four games than Seattle's collective offense has in five games.
