Richard Sherman is high on the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks ahead of the start of the new NFL season.
Sherman has the Seahawks ranked No. 1 overall out of all 32 teams in the league in his Week 1 NFL power rankings.
Sherman, a former Seahawks great and one of the most recognizable players from the franchise’s “Legion of Boom” era, views Seattle as the standard-setting team in the league over teams such as the Los Angeles Rams, who formed a juggernaut with Myles Garrett, Aaron Donald and Trent McDuffie added to their mix, as well as the Houston Texans and the rest of the elite teams in the league.
The Seahawks open their title defense Wednesday night at home against the New England Patriots. The matchup marks the beginning of a season
in which Seattle will face the expectations that come with being the defending champions.
Sherman’s ranking reflects his confidence in the team’s roster and ability to contend for another Super Bowl win in 2026.
