In epic fashion, the Seattle Seahawks won a nailbiter in Week 1, defeating the New England Patriots 13-10. Wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught a 45-yard catch-and-run touchdown on fourth down, and cornerback Josh Jobe made a toe-tapping interception with mere seconds left to seal the victory. It also marked the official debut of rookie running back Jadarian Price.
Many fans wondered what Price's role would be in Week 1. The 32nd overall selection in the 2026 NFL draft lined up in the backfield on the Seahawks' first offensive play from scrimmage. It was clear that Price was offensive coordinator Brian Fleury's preferred back.
Price rushed for a healthy 52 yards via 10 carries. He looked explosive and effective while averaging 5.2 yards per
carry. Price added two receptions to his offensive totals. The ex Notre Dame standout ran the football with burst and decisiveness.
George Holani also handled eight carries, but gained just 29 yards. The workload indicated it's still a timeshare with Price. It's worth noting Holani only averaged 3.6 yards per attempt and did not have a single carry gain 10+ yards. If anything, Price potentially proved he deserves a bigger workload in Week 2.
