Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Cooper Kupp let his voice be heard after the team’s 32-29 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5.
Kupp sent out a sharp, encouraging message on X, pushing a forward-thinking approach after suffering a devastating loss to the team’s fierce division rival.
“Back to work. Eyes forward,” Kupp said.
The loss was a painful one for the Seahawks, as they fell to 3-2 on the season after 49ers kicker Eddy Pineiro made a 44-yard field goal that put San Francisco ahead 32-29 with under two minutes remaining. The game ended in controversy when Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold hit Kupp on fourth-and-10 with 54 seconds left. Kupp dove toward the first-down marker, but officials ruled him short, and the call stood after review.
Despite the frustration, the Seahawks remain firmly in the NFC West race at 3-2. They now face a quick turnaround with a Thursday night road game against the Denver Broncos in Week 6, followed by another grueling matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 7.
Kupp will get the opportunity to help the Seahawks improve to 4-2 next week and gain momentum for their clash against the Chiefs, who are on a roll to begin the year. He has 11 receptions for 129 yards and a touchdown on the season.
