The Seattle Seahawks brought two wide receivers back to their practice squad Tuesday, Montorie Foster Jr. and Malick Meiga. Seahawks.com senior reporter John Boyle published the team’s official press release at 10:43 a.m. PDT.
Fullback Jackson Acker and linebacker Josh Ross were released in corresponding moves to make room on the practice squad.
Foster made Seattle’s initial 53-man roster and stuck around until Saturday, when he was waived to make room for the return of guard Anthony Bradford. He played on special teams in Week 1, but hasn’t played a snap since.
Meiga signed with Seattle’s practice squad in September after spending training camp with the Carolina Panthers. He was released on Oct. 19th to make room for Acker. His pre-draft testing
ranked in the 96th percentile of all wide receivers since 1987. He could become a special teams and gadget standout if and when he ever gets an opportunity, but he’s still a raw talent who was born in the Ivory Coast and raised in Canada. He would be an interesting project to watch stick around under the guise of NFL coaching and player development for an extended period of time.
