The Seattle Seahawks signed veteran cornerback Trevon Diggs from the practice squad to the 53-man roster Saturday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, ahead of Sunday’s Week 5 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.
Seattle made the move after placing rookie cornerback Julian Neal on injured reserve. Neal suffered a hamstring injury during practice this week and will miss at least the next four games while on IR. His absence created a need for additional experienced depth in Seattle’s secondary.
Diggs has only played in one game this season. He previously appeared in nine games in 2025, splitting the season between the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers. He recorded 27 total tackles last season. Diggs entered the league as a second-round pick
by the Dallas Cowboys in 2020 and has 20 career interceptions and 63 passes defensed.
The 28-year-old Diggs made his Seahawks debut last week against the Los Angeles Chargers, playing nine defensive snaps after being elevated from the practice squad. His promotion provides Seattle with a proven option on the outside as it prepares to face Brock Purdy and San Francisco’s high-powered passing attack this week.
