Although the 2027 NFL Draft remains many months away from commencing, the Seattle Seahawks’ most pressing needs are materializing before all this season, and if not addressed in the trade market or free agency, may influence the team’s draft strategy next year. The Seahawks appear to have room to add an elite wide receiver, defensive back, tight end and running back to their roster, making next year’s draft an opportunity to do just that.
Sports Illustrated’s Gilberto Manzano has Texas wide receiver Cam Coleman going to the Seahawks at No. 16 overall, and Alabama cornerback Zabien Brown going to Seattle at No. 47 overall in his latest 2027 NFL mock draft, saying this first about Coleman.
“Coleman’s mini slide ends with the current defending champions,
who will not be picking 32nd in mock drafts any time soon,” Manzano said. “With how much the Seahawks have relied on Jaxon Smith-Njigba this season, it’s clear the they need another weapon for Sam Darnold. Coleman has the athleticism and size (6'3", 204 pounds) to be a difference maker on the perimeter.”
Coleman is an intriguing prospect who may service Seattle greatly if selected in the draft next year. After recording 56 receptions for 708 yards and five touchdowns at Auburn in 2025, Coleman has continued to demonstrate his playmaking potential in 2026. He currently has 336 receiving yards and a SEC-leading six REC touchdowns on the year so far. Coleman’s combination of size, athleticism and explosiveness make him an elite NFL prospect who may have what it takes to elevate Seattle’s receiving corps further opposite JSN.
Brown is another potential target. Brown led the nation in pick sixes last season with two and also recorded six pass breakups that year. His 2026 production has further highlighted his potential as a defensive contributor, as he currently has four passes defensed on the year. With his ball skills and ability to create turnovers, Brown may provide the Seahawks with a valuable long-term piece in the secondary.
