The Seattle Seahawks published their final injury report for Week 9 after practice Friday, and it’s easily the longest of any week this season:

Two pages of players with injury designations. That’s not entirely a surprise, though. The Seahawks just played arguably the four best teams in the NFL the past four weeks in the San Francisco 49ers, the Denver Broncos, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Chicago Bears. Those are also four of the most physical teams in the entire league. While Seattle has seemingly struggled to piece together wins and sustain offensive drives, this context helps explain why that’s the case.
The Seahawks are also as physically dominant and
violent a football team as any. They’ve gotten themselves into several old-school, smash-mouth wars in the trenches in the last month, and risen to the occasion. They traded for a future Pro Football Hall of Famer to add to their trenches in Quenton Nelson, but even he’s now hurt. However, there’s a silver lining to all of this.
Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald champions his practice squad more than any other coach in the league. He refers to them as “The Ready Squad” or “The 70” instead of using the official term. His respect for them shows up on the field when these types of injuries occur. While the team’s stars deserve credit, there are also players working their tails off in practice for opportunities like these.
While you look at this injury report, you have to find a way to spin it and have a positive perspective. Consider all the lesser-known Seahawks who will have the opportunity to make a name for themselves.
Without further ado, here’s your full injury report from today’s practice, sorting players by their game designations and listing their injury and participation status.
