The 2026 NFL season is underway, and the Seattle Seahawks are starting the year off with a 1-0 record thanks to their phenomenal defense and the heroics of Drew Lock filling in for Sam Darnold. Seattle avoided the upset at home with a 13-10 defensive victory. While every win in the NFL is important, some matter a little more, at least to the fans. Part of why Wednesday night's victory was so special was because the Seahawks were celebrating raising their Super Bowl LX championship banner, and doing it in front of the team they humiliated in the big game.
Prior to the start of the game, the Seahawks went through all the pagentry associated with celebrating their second Lombardi, and on deck to help celebrate was the enforcer of the Legion of Boom
himself, Kam Chancellor.
Chancellor got the 12th Man into a frenzy as the Super Bowl LX banner was unveiled right next to their Super Bowl XLVIII banner. Chancellor also helped introduce the team as they ran out of the tunnel onto the field. Both moments can be seen in the tweets below:

Nobody does big moments better than the City of Seattle. Kam Chancellor wasn't the only former Legion of Boomer, nor the only beloved Seattle icon, present at the season opener. Richard Sherman had the honors of raising the 12th Man Flag in the south end zone, and Pearl Jam's Mike McCready performed the National Anthem. He later joined Soundgarden for a halftime show.
While the Seahawks are now focused squarely on the task at hand this year, it was great to have a moment to look back and celebrate their historic accomplishments last season.
