Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider is always tinkering with his practice squad. On Thursday, Schneider made another change to his reserve team. He added veteran offensive tackle Bobby Hart to the practice squad. To make room, undrafted rookie defensive tackle Uso Seumalo was released.
Hart spent the offseason with the Seahawks. He was released during cutdown day and did not land with another team. Seumalo was heavily featured on Hard Knocks, making the 12s fall in love with his undrafted story. Seumalo was also waived on cutdown day, but quickly re-signed to the practice squad. Now, his spot has been sacrificed to add Hart.
The veteran Hart initially entered the league as a seventh-round pick of the New York Giants in the 2015 NFL
draft. He's managed to string together a decade-long NFL career. Hart has appeared in 108 career games, making 75 starts. He was most recently with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2025.
Hart offers the Seahawks another veteran option at backup offensive tackle, with Josh Jones being the active-roster choice. Meanwhile, Seumalo will hope to get another chance to develop on the Seahawks' practice squad. It's easy to understand why the Seahawks value Hart's experience, but it's a shame Seumalo had to be released.
