Seattle Seahawks superstar Jaxon Smith-Njigba enters the Week 4 slate of games as the NFL’s receiving yards leader, having accumulated 405 receiving yards through Seattle’s first three games of the season.
Smith-Njigba has been brilliant to begin the year. He has taken over every game that he’s played in thus far, with clutch receptions, as seen in Week 1 against the New England Patriots, as well as dominant numbers, as seen in Weeks 2 and 3.
The reigning AP Offensive Player of the Year Smith-Njigba opened the season with eight catches for 122 yards and a touchdown, followed by nine receptions for 155 yards and three TDs in Week 2. He added 10 catches for 128 yards and two touchdowns in Week 3.
Over the course of the full 17-game schedule, Smith-Njigba’s
current pace puts him on track to produce 2,295 receiving yards for the year, a total that will set the record for most receiving yards in a single season in NFL history.
Smith-Njigba has a few players on his heels in the NFL’s receiving yards title race. New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave ranks No. 2 in the league behind Smith-Njigba in receiving yards with 375, followed by Los Angeles Rams WR Davante Adams with 358, Dallas Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb with 309 and Green Bay Packers WR Christian Watson with 284. Each remains within range to narrow the gap between themselves and JSN moving forward.
