The Seattle Seahawks enter the 2026 NFL season with high expectations.
Bleacher Report ranked the Seahawks No. 2 overall in their Week 1 power rankings just before the team kicks off their season opener against the New England Patriots to begin the year.
“Seattle remains a veteran and experienced group, which should prevent any post-Super Bowl slump,” Bleacher Report’s Brent Sobleski said. “At the same time, slight regression shouldn't be unexpected based on where the team currently stands.”
Seattle, the reigning Super Bowl champions, remains among the league’s top contenders despite several notable changes during the offseason. The Seahawks will look to build on last season’s championship run while navigating departures and adjustments on both
sides of the ball.
The team’s depth, experience and recent success have helped maintain its position near the top of the league entering the new season. Seattle also carries confidence with big-time rookies headlined by Jadarian Price and Beau Stephens set to add to their attack in place of departed veterans from the offseason.
The Seahawks will begin their title defense Wednesday night at home against the New England Patriots in a rematch of last season’s Super Bowl. The matchup provides Seattle with an immediate opportunity to demonstrate that they have what it takes to set the tone for another Super Bowl run in 2026.
For now, the Seahawks enter Week 1 viewed as one of the NFL’s premier teams.
