The Seattle Seahawks enter Week 7 at 3-3, searching for a defining victory to turn their season around. A win over the Kansas City Chiefs in their next matchup on Sunday may provide the spark that’s needed to restore confidence in the team, improve execution and put Seattle back on track.
The Seahawks’ three losses this season have come at the hands of the Washington Commanders without Jayden Daniels in the lineup, the San Francisco 49ers and the Denver Broncos, leaving them at .500 and searching for consistency. The Commanders game was one that the Seahawks were expected to win, while their toss-up of a matchup against the 49ers ended with a key dropped pass from Jaxon Smith-Njigba late that altered their field positioning, as well as a controversial
call against Cooper Kupp that kept them from securing another victory.
With the season reaching a critical stretch for Seattle, the team faces an opportunity to change its narrative against one of the NFL’s toughest opponents in Kansas City and secure a victory that they won’t want back afterward.
Last season, Seattle relied on an elite rushing attack that helped propel the franchise to a Super Bowl title. This year, however, the Seahawks’ ground game has struggled to meet expectations, failing to consistently reproduce the dominant level of play that established their offensive identity last season.
Defeating the Chiefs, one of only three remaining undefeated teams in the NFL, may provide a significant boost to Seattle and help them right the ship on their season. Outperforming Kansas City’s elite offense, which now features Kenneth Walker III, the current NFL rushing yards leader and former Seahawks star who won Super Bowl MVP with Seattle last season, will send a powerful message. For Sam Darnold and the Seahawks, a Week 7 victory may improve their offensive rhythm and establish momentum toward a stronger second half of the season for them.
