Tait Reynolds' performance against North Carolina in Week 3 on Saturday led the Clemson Tigers to a much-needed 28-20 come-from-behind win. It also earned Reynolds freshman of the week honors by one national outlet.
Reynolds was named the 247Sports True Freshman of the Week on Monday after his second half performance in the Tigers' victory. The four-star recruit out of Queen Creek, Arizona, led Clemson back from a 17-3 deficit and finished the day 20 of 29 for 215 yards and a touchdown to go with one interception. He also had 26 rushing yards.
Reynolds led Clemson on three touchdown drives in the final 18 1/2 minutes at Memorial Stadium. He connected with tight end Christian Bentancur for a 27-yard touchdown, the Tigers' first TD of the game,
with 3:30 to play in the third quarter to cut the deficit to 17-15.
After a 2 1/2 weather delay in the fourth quarter cleared out most of the fans who'd packed Memorial Stadium, Reynolds jumpstarted Clemson's go-ahead drive from his own 32-yard line with a 14-yard pass TJ Moore. Gideon Davidson put the Tigers ahead with an 8-yard touchdown run after reeling off a 45-yard scamper earlier.
Clemson had its first lead of the day at 21-20 with 5:01 left. When the defense forced a turnover on downs, the Tigers extended the lead to 28-20 on Tyler Brown's 34-yard touchdown run with a minute remaining.
Beginning with seven minutes left in the third quarter, Reynolds completed his final seven passes for 115 yards in the Tigers' victory.

Next up for Reynolds and the Tigers is a cross-country trip to Berkeley to face Cal on Friday. Kickoff is 10:30 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on ESPN.
