Clemson defensive tackle Hevin Brown-Shuler continues to make encouraging progress in his treatment for Hodgkin lymphoma.
During his radio show Monday night, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney said Brown-Shuler is doing well and may be approaching the end of his chemotherapy treatments.
“He’s doing great,” Swinney said. “I think he’s got one or two more chemo treatments.”
Clemson announced Brown-Shuler’s diagnosis in May, confirming that the junior would miss the entire 2026 season while undergoing treatment.
Although Brown-Shuler cannot contribute on the field this year, he has remained connected to the program. Swinney revealed that Brown-Shuler sent him an inspirational text while Clemson was in California for Friday’s 24-10 victory over the Golden
Bears.
“He texted me when I was out in Cal,” Swinney said. “He texted me kind of an inspirational message, just kind of encouraging me.”
Swinney praised Brown-Shuler for how he has handled the difficult process and the influence he has had on those around him.
“I’m super proud of Hevin,” Swinney said. “He’s done a great job, and again, he’s responded well.”
