Clemson’s three-game winning streak did little to soften the frustration that followed Saturday night’s loss to Miami.
The Tigers had a chance to make a statement against the fourth-ranked Hurricanes at Memorial Stadium. Instead, a 41-13 defeat left Clemson heading into its open week with more questions about where this season is going.
For a team that already suffered a 51-10 loss at LSU, another decisive defeat against a highly ranked opponent made this result especially difficult to digest.
There were moments when Clemson appeared capable of making things interesting. But the Tigers repeatedly followed promising plays with mistakes, missed opportunities or possessions that went nowhere.
Freshman quarterback Tait Reynolds threw for 295 yards despite
spending much of the night under pressure. That effort could not overcome an offense that managed only 34 rushing yards and allowed six sacks.
Clemson also committed 10 penalties for 91 yards, making an already difficult assignment even tougher.
A failed fourth-down attempt deep in Miami territory early in the second half proved costly. The Hurricanes followed with a lengthy touchdown drive and steadily pulled away.
The result dropped Clemson to 3-2 overall and 2-1 in ACC play, with Charleston Southern next on the schedule Oct. 17.
There is plenty to discuss after another disappointing night for the Tigers. Here is a look at the social media reaction to Clemson’s loss.
I watched Clemson do this to so many teams for years.

Miami has it. Clear and convincing to anyone who watches them play.

“I’m so proud of the fight we showed. That’s a freakin’ good football team”
It felt like there was a chance, a slim one, when Clemson had momentum down 17-6 but driving. Then that ridiculous 4th down call. The air was sucked out of the building

Look, whatever happens the rest of the way, Clemson has played tough and hard tonight. They have clearly improved in almost every area. I never expected them to win this game but they have shown me something tonight. The defense has balled out all night.

Clemson used to do that to other teams & now they’re having it done to them.
Appreciate it Dabo.

If you would have told me

Toney 40 yds receiving and 0 tds
Tait Reynolds more passing yards than Darien Mensah
I would have thought we had won or atleast kept it close.
