Clemson heads into Saturday’s matchup with Virginia Tech as a slight favorite, with a chance to strengthen its position in the ACC race under the lights at Memorial Stadium.
The Tigers are favored by 2.5 points, according to the updated FanDuel odds, with a moneyline of -144. The total is set at 49.5 points for the conference matchup.
For Clemson (4-2, 2-1 ACC), the challenge is carrying last weekend’s momentum into a more demanding test. The Tigers handled Charleston Southern 37-0, scoring on their first five possessions and rushing for 231 yards. Their defense delivered its first shutout since 2021, giving Clemson a comfortable victory heading into its return to league play.
Virginia Tech should provide considerably more resistance. The Hokies
arrive at 5-2 overall and 2-2 in the ACC after beating Georgia Tech 34-24. Their two defeats have come by a combined seven points, leaving little room for Clemson to overlook a team that has remained competitive throughout the season.

Saturday also brings the first coaching matchup between Dabo Swinney and James Franklin, who is in his first season leading Virginia Tech after spending 12 seasons at Penn State. The Hokies have not played at Clemson since 2012.
With one conference loss already, the Tigers have an opportunity to keep themselves in the ACC championship conversation. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET Saturday on ESPN, with streaming available on ESPN+.
