The rain, clouds and bad weather may have finally lifted for Dabo Swinney and Clemson football.
The Tigers (4-2, 2-1 ACC) host the Virginia Tech Hokies (5-2, 2-2) in a critical ACC matchup in Week 8 of the 2026 college football season at Memorial Stadium.
For the second straight week in Clemson's Death Valley, and for the first time this season under the lights, fall weather will be in full effect when the Tigers faces James Franklin's Hokies.
The threat of rain, which followed Clemson through the first five games of the season with the exception of its West Coast trip to face California in Berkeley on Sept. 25, is expected to be non-existent when the Tigers and Hokies kick off.
According to the National Weather Service in Clemson-Spartanburg, Saturday's
forecast is as follows:
"Clear, with a low around 43. Northeast wind 6 to 8 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph."
Saturday's high before kickoff is forecast as 67 degrees with clear skies, according to AccuWeather, which purports to use data from both the National Weather Service and the NOAA but uses the analysis of multiple in-house meteorologists.

Kickoff for Clemson-Virginia Tech in Week 8 of the 2026 college football season is 7 p.m. ET at Memorial Stadium. The game can be seen on ESPN. Roy Philpott and Brock Osweiler will have the call of the game. Sherree Burruss will report from the sidelines.
The Clemson Athletic Network radio feed of the game featuring Tigers play-by-play voice Don Munson and analysts Tim Bourret and Jeff Scott can be heard on SiriusXM channel 235.
