If Saturday night inside LSU's Tiger Stadium felt like a new low for the Clemson Tigers under Dabo Swinney, it's because it was.

Clemson's 51-10 blowout loss to LSU was the most lopsided defeat suffered by the Tigers in Swinney's 18 seasons as head coach.

Clemson's worst losses under Swinney prior to Saturday were each by 37 points. The Tigers fell to West Virginia, 70-33, in the 2012 Orange Bowl in Miami, and lost 51-14 to Florida State at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee during the Seminoles' national championship season in 2013.

LSU raced to a 17-3 lead after the first quarter Saturday and led 31-3 at halftime. Heading into the fourth quarter, the Bayou Bengals were up 44-3 and had amassed 507 yards of total offense and 31 first downs. Clemson

had just 73 yards and four first downs.

LSU ended the night with 644 total yards and 38 first downs to Clemson's 145 yards and eight first downs. LSU finished with 309 rushing yards to Clemson's 40.

How bad was Clemson football loss to LSU?

ESPN Analytics provided more insight on Clemson's 41-point drubbing at the hands of LSU.

Among them, Clemson's 54 yards of total offense at halftime were the fewest in a first half since Swinney took over as full-time coach following the 2008 season.

The Tigers were also 0-for-8 on third down in the first half, tying the worst mark in any half for a Clemson team under Swinney.
