Former Clemson wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud is looking for his next NFL opportunity after his time with the Chicago Bears came to an end.
Chicago released McCloud over the weekend after the veteran receiver and return specialist received an injury settlement. He had initially been placed on injured reserve as NFL teams trimmed their rosters down to 53 players.
McCloud, who entered the league as a sixth-round selection by the Buffalo Bills in the 2018 NFL Draft, has managed to carve out a lengthy professional career. He has recorded 159 receptions for 1,523 yards and two touchdowns during his time in the league.
His biggest impact has often come on special teams. McCloud has accumulated 1,326 yards as a punt returner along with 2,890 yards on kickoff
returns.
In addition to Buffalo and Chicago, the former Clemson standout has spent time with the Carolina Panthers, Pittsburgh Steelers and San Francisco 49ers. He also worked out with the Detroit Lions during the preseason period.

Before beginning his NFL career, McCloud arrived at Clemson as a five-star prospect and became a productive piece of the Tigers’ offense and special teams units.
He finished his Clemson career with 127 receptions for 1,226 yards and four touchdowns across 40 games, including 20 starts. McCloud also returned 50 punts for 485 yards and a touchdown while adding 148 yards on four kickoff returns.
Now, the former Tiger will look for another opportunity to continue a professional career that has already stretched across several NFL organizations.
