Trevor Lawrence was so good Sunday that Jacksonville ran out of game for him to play. The former Clemson football phenom turned three quarters against the Indianapolis Colts into a night that looked like he was back in South Carolina playing against a 2-10 Louisville team.
Lawrence completed 10 of 14 passes for 210 yards and three touchdowns in the Jacksonville Jaguars’ 42-7 win. He averaged a career-high 15 yards per attempt and finished with a 153.3 passer rating, only five points away from a perfect mark, before spending the fourth quarter on the sideline.

Jacksonville opened the game by traveling 98 yards in 12 plays, with Lawrence handling most of the mileage. He hit
Brenton Strange for 46 yards before finding Brian Thomas Jr. alone in the end zone for a 12-yard touchdown.
The former Tiger added his second touchdown after Jonathan Taylor’s fumble gave Jacksonville the ball at midfield. Lawrence needed only four plays to take advantage, connecting with rookie tight end Nate Boerkircher for a 31-yard score that put the Jaguars ahead 14-0.
Bhayshul Tuten took care of the next touchdown himself, bouncing through multiple defenders for a 39-yard run. The second-year running back finished with 104 yards on 16 carries and 159 total yards, finally delivering the breakout game Jacksonville’s offense had been waiting for.
Even Lawrence’s worst play of the game ended with the Jaguars scoring. Jaylahn Tuimoloau stripped him late in the second quarter, giving Indianapolis the ball deep inside Jacksonville territory with a chance to cut into a 21-0 deficit.
Three plays later, Daniel Jones, who has been awful all season, threw a pass off Tyler Warren’s hands and directly to Rayuan Lane III. The Jaguars safety returned it 92 yards for a touchdown, turning Lawrence’s only turnover into another seven points for Jacksonville and a 28-0 halftime lead.
Lawrence threw his third touchdown on the final play of the third quarter, dropping a screen to Tuten and watching him race 25 yards into the end zone. That pushed Jacksonville’s lead to 42-7 and officially ended Lawrence’s afternoon.

The advanced numbers made the performance look even more ridiculous. Lawrence completed seven of nine passes for 167 yards and all three touchdowns against zone coverage. He also went four of five for 124 yards off play-action, repeatedly catching the Colts defense staring into the backfield.
The Jaguars rushed for a season-high 183 yards and finished with 366 yards despite calling off the starters early. Their defense forced three turnovers, recorded four sacks and held Taylor to 23 yards on eight carries.
Lawrence now has 1,690 passing yards, 17 touchdowns, and only four interceptions through seven games. His current pace would leave him with approximately 4,104 yards and 41 touchdown passes over a 17-game season.
