Clemson and Cal continue to be viewed as nearly even heading into Friday night’s ACC matchup in Berkeley.
The Tigers remain 1.5-point favorites over the Golden Bears as of Wednesday, with the line holding steady despite the unusual circumstances surrounding Clemson’s short week and cross-country trip.
Clemson enters the matchup at 2-1 overall and 1-0 in ACC play after rallying past North Carolina, 28-20, last weekend. Cal owns the same record after putting together back-to-back wins over Syracuse and Wagner.
Friday’s game will be Clemson’s first ACC matchup against Cal and just the second meeting between the programs overall. The Tigers will also have to deal with a 10:30 p.m. EDT kickoff, adding another challenge to a game oddsmakers already expect
to be extremely close.

The money line further shows how little separation there is between the two teams. Clemson sits at -112, making the matchup essentially a pick’em despite the Tigers carrying a small point-spread advantage.
The total has also moved up from earlier in the week, reaching 50.5 points ahead of Friday night.
