One of the most consistent players for the Clemson Tigers during the 2026 college football season has been on special teams.
Kicker Nolan Hauser, who connected on each of his three field goal attempts in the Tigers' 37-0 victory over Charleston Southern in Week 7, was named ACC Specialist of the Week as part of the league's Players of the Week honors on Monday.
It's the third time this season the junior out of William Amos Hough High School in Cornelius, North Carolina, has been named Specialist of the Week by the ACC.
A big reason why was Hauser's career-long 59-yard field goal with 47 seconds remaining in the second quarter of Saturday's game against Charleston Southern.
Hauser also took home Specialist of the Week honors following his 5-for-5
night on field goal tries in the Tigers' 22-7 win over Georgia Southern in Week 2. A week later, Hauser repeated the honors after finishing 3-for-3 on kicks in Clemson's 28-20 come-from-behind win over North Carolina in the Tigers' ACC opener.
For the season, Hauser has made 15 of 16 field goal attempts and is 11 of 11 on extra point attempts for 56 points.
According to a press release from the ACC:
- The 59-yard field goal was the second-longest field goal in Clemson history, trailing only a 61-yarder by Spencer Benton against Ball State in 2012.
- With the kick, he recorded his fifth career field goal of 50 or more yards to tie Donald Igwebuike (five from 1981-84) and Chris Gardocki (five from 1988-90) for the second-most in Clemson history.
- He is now responsible for two of the five longest field goals in Clemson history.
- His 59-yarder was the longest field goal in the ACC this season and is the third-longest in the nation this year.
- Became the ninth kicker in Clemson history to reach 50 career field goals.
- With his 258 career points, he also became the ninth kicker and 13th player overall in school history to reach 250 career points.
