Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers won't return to ACC play for another week when the Tigers face James Franklin's Virginia Tech Hokies in Week 8 of the 2026 college football season on Oct. 24 at Clemson Memorial Stadium.
The ACC on Monday revealed partial start time and TV channel information for its Week 8 schedule, including Virginia Tech's first trip to Clemson's Death Valley since October 2012.
The Tigers (3-2 overall, 2-1 ACC) will face the Hokies (4-2, 1-2) in prime time: either 7 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. ET The game will be televised on ESPN or ESPN2. The official start time and TV channel for Clemson-Virginia Tech will be announced following Saturday's Week 7 schedule.
Clemson had a bye in Week 6 and fell to the Miami Hurricanes, 41-13, in its
last game. Tait Reynolds threw for 295 yards and completed 29 of his 44 passes, but the Tigers were kept out of the end zone until Gideon Davidson's 2-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
Virginia Tech, which started 4-0 in Franklin's first season in Blacksburg since being dismissed by Penn State in October 2025, suffered its second straight loss in Week 6 after falling to the California Golden Bears, 25-20, in Berkeley. The Hokies have lost their last two games by a combined seven points.
Clemson and Virginia Tech will meet for the 38th time in series history. The Tigers lead the all-time series 24-12-1 on the field, and have won seven straight head-to-head matchups since 2011.
