The Clemson Tigers return to ACC play in Week 8 of the 2026 college football season. The Virginia Tech Hokies visit Clemson's Death Valley for the first time since 2012 for a prime-time matchup.
Saturday's game will mark the first head-to-head meeting between longtime coaches Dabo Swinney and James Franklin, the latter of which is in his first season at Virginia Tech after 12 seasons at Penn State.
Franklin has the Hokies off to a promising enough start in his first year in Blacksburg. Virginia Tech is 5-2 overall and 2-2 in ACC play. The Hokies are coming off a 34-24 win over Georgia Tech at Lane Stadium in Week 7. The team's two losses were by a combined seven points.
Clemson (4-2, 2-1) is coming off a 37-0 shutout win over Charleston Southern,
an FCS opponent, at Memorial Stadium. The Tigers scored on their first five series and ran for over 231 yards. The defense held the Buccaneers to 75 yards of total offense.
