Clemson continues to see its outlook improve in the betting market as the start of the 2026 season gets closer, although the Tigers still have some ground to make up in the race to become the ACC favorite.
One month after improving from +1600 to +1500, Clemson’s odds have moved again. The Tigers now sit at +1400 to win the ACC Championship entering August, showing that confidence in Dabo Swinney’s team has steadily increased throughout the offseason. Even with that improvement, Clemson remains fourth in the conference odds. Miami continues to lead the way at -136, while SMU (+700) and Louisville (+800) are still positioned ahead of the Tigers.
For a program that spent more than a decade dominating the ACC, those rankings show how much expectations
have shifted in recent years. Clemson is no longer receiving the benefit of the doubt from oddsmakers based on its past success. Instead, the Tigers are being evaluated on what they’ve accomplished more recently, and they still have work to do before sportsbooks are ready to place them back on top of the conference.
The encouraging sign is that Clemson’s odds have consistently moved in the right direction. The Tigers have improved twice since opening at +1600 earlier this offseason, suggesting bettors are becoming more confident that this team can contend for an ACC title. With an experienced roster and high expectations entering the year, Clemson has plenty of reasons to believe it can challenge the teams sitting above it.

Of course, preseason odds are only projections. Once the season begins, Clemson will have every opportunity to prove those projections wrong. If the Tigers return to the level of play that made them the conference standard for so many years, they won’t have to worry about where oddsmakers ranked them in August. Winning games will take care of that, and a strong start could quickly change the conversation surrounding the ACC title race.
