The Cowboys as a team are already trying to move on from Week 5, two days removed from their embarrassing 24-16 loss to Tampa Bay. Two of their players, however, are still paying for Week 4's win.
The league has revealed its list of players receiving fines for Week 4 rules infractions
, with wide receiver KaVontae Turpin and cornerback Reddy Steward both getting docked for actions taken during the Cowboys' 34-30 victory in Houston.Steward, called up from the practice squad for the game, was flagged for unnecessary roughness early in the third quarter. In trying to break up an end zone pass, the third-year man was deemed to have laid an illegal hit on the sliding and defenseless Nico Collins. Collins came up with the catch anyway for six points;
the penalty yardage made for a shorter-than-normal PAT try for Ka'imi Fairbairn.
Fox analyst Greg Olsen argued during the broadcast that the personal foul call may have followed "the letter of the law" but seemed like just a valid defensive effort to break up a scoring pass.
Steward will see his game check docked $5,583 for the blow.

Turpin's punishment comes from what happened on the ensuing kickoff. After fielding the ball at his own 4-yard-line, Turpin racked up 32 yards on the return, finally being tackled near the Texans sideline. As he picked himself off the turf, he appeared to make a flexing gesture toward the Houston players and coaching staff and may have added a few words, although the TV broadcast did not show anything definitive.
The NFL is calling it taunting and fining Turpin $11,941 for unsportsmanlike conduct, even though no penalty was called at the time by the on-field officials.
According to the league, fines collected are donated to the Professional Athletes Foundation to support Legends in need and the NFL Foundation to further support the health, safety and wellness of athletes across all levels, including youth football and the communities that support the game.
After the rescinding of Jake Ferguson's Week 2 fine, the new fines bring the Cowboys' current 2026 tally to $61,350.
