There's a reason why Dallas Cowboys players are extremely loyal to Jerry Jones, despite his failures as a general manager. Owner Jerry Jones cares a ton for his players, and while he may not align with them on a lot of issues, he aligns with them a ton in some key ways. Jones has always been one to extend a helping hand to a player, or former player in need, and Sunday offered a small, recent example of such.
Following the team's 34-30 Week 4 win over the Houston Texans, the team stuck around to board their flight back up to Dallas together, as per usual. One member was not on that plane, however. Second-year reserve linebacker Shemar James caught an earlier flight; on Jones' private jet.
Why? The birth of his child. James' wife went into labor
and Jones wanted to make sure that the trip took as little time as possible, reportedly also offering an expedited escort from the air strip to the hospital.

There is also reportedly an escort waiting to take James straight to the hospital.
Jerry is making sure he gets there.

James, a fifth-round selection from the 2025 draft played 26 snaps in Sunday's win, recording a tackle. He's the Cowboys' fourth linebacker, and would hardly be considered a star player. He's yet to make a permanent mark in the league, but his loyalty to the star is probably locked in forever after Jones' gesture.
