The Dallas Cowboys churned the back end of their roster on Friday, releasing RB Dominic Richardson and signing 2025 UFL rushing leader Jashaun Corbin. Corbin recently played for the UFL’s Orlando Storm, recording 131 carries for 433 rushing yards and 3 TDs, plus 21 catches for 118 yards and a TD.
A 2022 UDFA out of Florida State and Texas A&M, Corbin previously spent time with the Giants (appearing in 6 games), Panthers, Falcons, and Patriots. This could be his opportunity for redemption, a chance to make an impact in the league. Here's a look at what he brings to the table.

He hits holes quickly without dancing behind the line, showing the patience to let blocks develop before bursting upfield. That patience makes him a natural fit for zone-blocking concepts, giving him real upside in offensive coordinator Klayton Adams’ scheme.
In the passing game, Corbin brings immediate value as a receiving threat out of the backfield. He boasts soft, reliable hands, making him a dependable safety valve on screens, swing passes, and check-downs. When fighting for tough yards, Corbin runs with a low pad level and impressive contact balance, allowing him to bounce off initial hits in tight spaces and offer intriguing upside in short-yardage and goal-line scenarios. On top of that, he brings proven kick return experience from college and a willing mindset in pass protection, giving him the total package to compete for a versatile role.

Outside of starter Javonte Williams, the Cowboys’ running back room remains wide open with Phil Mafah, Jayden Blue, and Malik Davis. If Jashaun Corbin can translate his production from the UFL to the NFL, he offers a sneaky addition with a physical, zone-scheme play style reminiscent of former Cowboy Rico Dowdle. However, to secure a roster spot, Corbin will need to make an immediate impact on special teams.
