The Dallas Cowboys' roster-building strategy has changed this offseason and seems to revolve around this win-now mentality. All the trades, free agent signings, and careful roster cuts have given the Cowboys one of their best chances to steer the franchise in the right direction. You can see how the players have responded to the shift in the front office's approach this offseason: they're more enthusiastic, and, more importantly, their confidence across the roster continues to grow.
But confidence won't be enough to win football games; Dallas will need certain players to continue playing at a high level, like Dak Prescott. They also need players to step up their game, like Tyler Guyton and Terence Steele, who are seen as their weakest links on this
Cowboys offense. Also, rookies like first-round pick Caleb Downs and Malachi Lawrence will need to live up to the level of expectation that led to their high draft selections. If Dallas can see all three play out this season, then their win-now mentality has a better chance of becoming a reality.
