The Dallas Cowboys have made one of their biggest defensive commitments in recent years on Monday, agreeing to a massive contact extension with All-Pro defensive lineman Quinnen Williams.
Williams and the team have reportedly agreed to a three-year, $105.9 million extension with $101 million of that partially guaranteed, making him one of the leagues highest paid defensive interior lineman. His $35.3 million average salary slots in just above Tennessee's Jeffrey Simmons.

His guarantees are the most at signing for a DT in NFL history. $63.5 million of that deal is fully guaranteed once the pen hits the paper, keeping the star defensive tackle in Dallas though the 2030 season.
The agreement comes less than a year after Dallas acquired Williams from the New York Jetsin exchange for a first and second-round draft pick. The Cowboys also sent defensive tackle Mazi Smith, their 2023 first-round selection, to the Jets as part of the deal.
Williams entered training camp as one of the Cowboys top priorities for a potential extension according to Cowboys COO Stephen Jones. Those discussions gained momentum during Saturday's practice when Williams' agent, Nicole Lynn, was seen talking extensively with Cowboys senior director of salary cap and contracts manager Adam Prasifka.
He is the third defensive tackle to land a major deal joining Simmons and the Eagles Jalen Carter, who sits in the catbird seat at $38 million a year, helping to reset the interior lineman market.
The timing of the agreement is particularly important for Dallas. Williams was under contract through the 2027 season, but a deal now allows the Cowboys to not only secure a vital piece of their defensive puzzle for the next five seasons, but it frees up cap space for potential future acquisitions.
After making the trade to acquire Williams, the Cowboys have now made an even bigger commitment to ensure he remains in Dallas for years to come.
