The Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants have returned to the practice field, for their first padded practices of the 2026 regular season. Every week, teams generally follow the same rhythm of ramping up to Wednesday, Thursday and Friday practices before a travel day on Saturday. And while Week 1 had more work on Monday instead of the normal Tuesday, things fell into place on Wednesday.
And with the first padded practice comes the first official practice report, keying in on who is dealing with issues that could impact their status for the upcoming game. In this iteration, the Giants actually have more players with injuries they are tracking than Dallas does, though Dallas is hardly in a bad spot, with an asterisk.
The biggest news in the "will
they play" department is Giants wideout Malik Nabers. Nabers season was cut short last year due to an ACL injury, but he worked to return and was able to take part in most of New York's training camp. He was one of five Giants listed on the report as full participants.
On Wednesday, Dallas moved star left guard Tyler Smith to IR, so he won't appear on the report because he's technically not part of the playable roster. Dallas did have another offensive lineman with a bit of an issue, as Ajani Cornelius was limited with a knee issue. The depth along the interior will be a little thin.
Also on the report is DE Jonathan Bullard, who missed all of the preseason and a ton of camp due to a groin injury. He was, however, listed as a full participant on Wednesday.
Here's a look at each player mentioned on the report.
