Camden Brown's journey from undrafted free agent to the Dallas Cowboysinitial 53-man roster is officially complete.
The Cowboys made the decision to keep the rookie wide receiver on the roster, rewarding Brown for one of the more impressive training camps and preseason performances of any of the young players in Dallas this summer.
The teams' 53-man roster was achieved slightly ahead of the NFL's deadline, with Brown securing his spot as WR6 despite entering the offseason without the draft pedigree that typically gives players an advantage in roster battles.
Brown arrived in Dallas out of Georgia Southern and quickly established himself as more than just another camp body. At 6-foot-2 and 204 pounds, Brown brought the size, physicality, and contested-catch
ability the Cowboys were looking for at wideout.
He made an immediate impact in the preseason opener against Seattle, catching three passes for 62 yards including two touchdowns receptions. More importantly, both of those receptions came from two different quarterbacks earning him compatibility points along the way.

He followed that performance against Arizona with a 70-yard reception which fell just shy of his third touchdown pass of the preseason after he was tackled near the end zone. He finished that game withtwo catches for 77 yards.

In total, Brown finished with six receptions for 166 yards, tied for second-most in the preseason. His two touchdown catches ranked third-best in the NFL.
Keeping him meant passing on other players with more experience or draft investment yet Dallas ultimately determined that Browns' upside was too valuable to risk by placing him on waivers.
That decision became even more significant given the competition surrounding the wide receiver room. The team instead parted with two-time Super Bowl winning wideout Marquez Valdes-Scantling and 2026 rookie seventh-round pick Anthony Smith.
His inclusion also continues a long-standing Cowboys tradition of finding value among undrafted players.
Making the roster is only the beginning. After accomplishing something that seemed far from guaranteed and turning heads during training camp and in preseason, Brown must now prove he belongs on Sundays.
