Three games in 12 days proved to be too much for Dallas after theCowboys got blown out by the previously winless Buccaneers team on the nationally televised Thursday Night Football losing 31-10 in a lopsided affair.
The embarrassing performance should shut down any ongoing rumors about potentially adding more players via trade and wasting the teams future roster building capabilities until they properly learn how to defend NFL offenses.
Changes are needed in Dallas and the team cannot solely rely on quarterback Dak Prescott to consistently post herculean performances in order to compete or falter when he does not play up to his standard.
A somber winners and losers list awaits headlined by a coach who was supposed to be the savior and now appears
to be fools gold.
Loser - Defensive Coordinator Christian Parker
Getting dog walked by an undrafted free agent rookie quarterback may not have been on anyone's bingo card but that is exactly what happened against Christian Parker and his defense.
Dallas was unable to stop the run allowing 241 yards on 39 carries for an embarrassing 6.1 yards per carry average while giving up two more touchdowns on the ground which now ups their season total to six.

The Cowboys defense couldn't stop the pass either allowing Buccaneers rookie QB Jalon Daniels to complete 19 of 25 passes for 189 yards and a touchdown. Daniels and the Tampa offense held possession of the ball for almost 40 minutes (39:21) and limited the opportunities for the Dallas offense.
After the Jets broke their interception drought earlier in the season, Dallas now owns the longest streak in the NFL without an interception at eight games and counting.
The Cowboys are on the verge of wasting the careers of two franchise caliber quarterbacks (Tony Romo being the other) because for two consecutive seasons, they cannot figure out how to play defense at an NFL level.
Winner - NFC East Opponents
The week began with news of Philadelphia losing a pair of offensive linemen signaling a changing of the guard in the NFC East. This led many to believe the Cowboys had the inside track to another division crown.
Losing against a winless team has many rethinking their position — namely, the other three teams in the NFC East.
Having already defeated Dallas, the 3-1 Giants, amid all their injuries, should feel confident that they can win the division and earn a spot in the playoffs.
Philadelphia (2-2) can break their tie with Dallas with a win in London over the Jaguars while the Commanders (1-3) can pull even record-wise with the Cowboys as basement dwellers in the NFC East if they can get a win against the Giants.
Loser - Cornerback DaRon Bland
During an appearance on the Ross Tucker Podcast, senior producer of NFL Films, Greg Cosell, stated that Cowboys cornerback DaRon Bland was no longer suited to be a boundary corner in the NFL.
After initial backlash, Cosell may have been onto something as for the second-straight week, Bland has been torched in the secondary giving up six passes for 83 yards on seven targets against an undrafted rookie free agent quarterback.
Cosell urged that Dallas should shift Bland inside to the nickel position following the addition of Joey Porter Jr. Obviously, the game-day deactivation of Porter due to an unexpected illness prevented Dallas from making that move but must now be considered due to Blands' steadily declining play on the outside.
With under four minutes to play and down eight points, Bland had the opportunity to make amends when he had a clear interception and likely touchdown on an errant third-down pass by Tampa, but he dropped the ball that hit him square in the chest

The play would have given Dallas the opportunity to tie the game with plenty of time remaining but instead, Tampa punted the ball and intercepted Dallas later on for the win. The Cowboys gave Bland a four year $92 million extension just over a year ago but now looks to be one of the worst contract decisions this team has recently made.
Loser - Tight End Jake Ferguson
Tight End Jake Ferguson has been under fire for his blocking, or lack thereof, but now he must face the inevitable backlash after deflecting a Dak Prescott pass in the waning moments of the game which ended up as the game winning interception for Tampa.
Through all the adversity, Dallas had Tampa on their heels and were driving for a potentially game tying score.
On second and one with 1:22 remaining at the Buccaneers 24 yard line, Cowboys QB Dak Prescott dropped back and found Ferguson over the middle on what should have been a completion and a first down right around the Tampa 13-yard line.

Instead, Ferguson allows the ball to go through both his hands which ricocheted into the air subsequently intercepted by Buccaneers linebacker Alex Anzalone.
Ferguson dropped a pass earlier in the game and finished the day catching three passes for 19 yards on six targets. 13 receptions for 86 yards through five games isn't ideal for a player who just received a four-year $50 million extension in 2025.
Perhaps the toll of so many games in a short span to begin the season was too much for Dallas to overcome but if things don't turn around in a hurry, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones' longstanding view on not moving on from coaches early will be tested by an angry and embarrassed fanbase.
