Cowboys 55-man roster vs Commanders: Dallas elevates 2 LBs for Week 2

The Dallas Cowboys did not leave their Week 1 debacle of a loss to the New York Giants unscathed. In addition to taking one on the chin as a group, the team's much maligned defense also lost two of it's starters. After not practicing all week, Dallas declared linebacker DeMarvion Overshown and safety Malik Hooker out for the Week 2 contest against the Washington Commanders.

Overshown's hamstring and Hooker's forearm fracture aren't bad enough to warrant a trip to injured reserve, but they will be inactive come Sunday afternoon. The team is deep on their 53-man roster at safety, carrying six and able to withstand the loss of Hooker, but they're perilously thin at linebacker.

The team elevated Justin Barron to augment that group, but also added

free agent LB Curtis Robinson to assist in fortifying the team's defense.

Here's a look at the club's 55-man roster ahead of Sunday's inactives, which will be announced 90 minutes before kickoff.
