The Dallas Cowboys had one of the league's top feel-good stories a few years ago, when they selected RB Deuce Vaughn from Kansas State. Vaughn's dad, Chris, is a member of the Cowboys' front office, and with the War Room cams rolling, Chris was able to call his son on Day 3 of the 2023 draft and inform him that he had been drafted by Dallas.
Vaughn, a two-time All-American who led CFB in carries in 2022 and had over 3,600 yards as a Wildcat, wasn't able to overcome his diminutive nature in the pros. He suited up for 14 games across two seasons with the Cowboys, seeing just 40 carries. Now, two years later, he's getting another shot at the pros, signing with the Houston Texans.

Vaughn also had 10 receptions while with the Cowboys, and returned one kick for 10 yards. Hehad spent time on the Denver Broncos practice squad, but never appeared in a game for Sean Payton's crew. In the spring he signed with the Orlando Storm of the UFL.
The Texans' backfield is led by David Montgomery and Woody Marks. The latter led their team in rushing yards last season with 703. Montgomery spent the last few years in Detroit as the complimentary piece to Jahmyr Gibbs. He had 716 yards last year with eight touchdowns, and has two different 1,000-yard seasons under his belt.
