The Dallas Cowboys coaching staff and players have already shifted their focus to the Washington Commanders, but owner Jerry Jones had a few final thoughts on the Cowboys' loss. Jones, during his weekly appearance on 105.3 The Fans Shan and RJ show, expressed his disappointment after watching that defensive performance. He highlighted communication as the main cause of the defensive woes against the Giants and backed his coaches and his belief in this scheme going forward.
While Jones was talking about their loss, the Cowboys front office was looking to make their roster better, signing Atlanta Falcons preseason star running back Tyler Goodson off their practice squad. Goodson was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts back in 2023, where he played
in 33 games and amassed 264 rushing yards, 103 receiving yards, one touchdowN, and averaged 4.9 yards per attempt.
During the 2026 preseason, Goodson was a fan favorite who was one of the more impressive running backs fighting to make the roster. When he was cut, it left the Falcons fanbase scratching their heads. Dallas could see a little bit of Malik Davis in Goodson's game; with his speed and one-cut ability, he could be a useful weapon they can unleash on defenses.
