Giants WR Malik Nabers is active, Cowboys to sit preseason star WR
The Dallas Cowboys have announced their inactives for their opening game of the 2026 season. Set to face off against the New York Giants from the New Meadowlands, the Cowboys are excited to get on the field and unleash their new defense and their improved offense. In an effort to return to the playoffs for the first time since 2023, the club is working in a different way than most are used to seeing. Now, the question is whether the results will be there.
After escaping the offseason extremely healthy, Dallas has had to move starting LG Tyler Smith and backup RB Malik Davis to IR over the last week. Those moves left the team's game day inactives up in the air, though they were
already going to play second fiddle as everyone waited to hear about Giants WR Malik Nabers.
After recovering from a midseason ACL tear last season, Nabers was listed as questionable on Friday after a full week of practice. He will play on Sunday night.

For the Cowboys, there's a little surprise as RB Israel Abanikanda was promoted to the roster from the practice squad on Saturday, but he will not play as RB3. Instead the Cowboys will role with starter and Pro Bowler Javonte Williams, fullback Hunter Luepke and RB2 Emari Demarcado.
WR Camden Brown, who excited the fanbase as a UDFA rookie and made the 53-man roster as WR5, is also one of the inactives.
