Team USA defeated New Zealand, 9-0, in the Women's Softball World Cup at Devon Park in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Former Tennessee pitcher Karlyn Pickens made her first appearance in the tournament and pitched five-inning complete game. She allowed one hit and recorded 10 strikeouts. Pickens totaled 48 pitches, including 38 strikes.
Former Tennessee player and current assistant coach Aubrey Leachwent 2-for-3 and scored one run.
Team USA opened play in the Women's Softball World Cup on Sept. 12, with an, 11-0, victory over Mexico. Leach went 1-for-1. She recorded one double, one run and one RBI.
On Sunday, Team USA defeated Brazil, 17-0, in four innings. In the first of two games, Leach went 1-for-3. She totaled one run, two walks and one stolen base.
Team USA also defeated Netherlands, 8-0, on Sunday in five innings. Leach went 1-for-1 and scored one run for Team USA.
