Memphis defeated Chicago, 104-100, Friday in a NBA preseason game at United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
Two former Tennessee basketball players competed in the contest.
Jahmai Mashack totaled two assists and one steal in seven minutes for the Grizzlies. He was 0-of-2 in field goal attempts and 0-of-2 for three-point attempts.
Ty Jerome was Memphis' leading scorer with 16 points. He also recorded four assists and one rebound for the Grizzlies, who will next play on Oct. 16 versus Charlotte. Tipoff between Memphis and the Hornets is slated for 8 p.m. EDT at FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee.
Former Vol Tobe Awaka started and played 24 minutes for the Bulls. He also failed to score, but recorded seven rebounds and two assists. Awaka missed both of
his field goal attempts.
Chicago's Caleb Williams led all scorers with 21 points. He also recorded four rebounds and one steal.
Norman Powell scored 17 points, while Josh Giddey added 13 points and Leonard Miller finished with 12 points for the Bulls, who will next play at Denver on Oct. 11. Tipoff between Chicago and the Nuggets is slated for 9 p.m. EDT at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado.
