Two Tennesseemen's golfers were named Cobalt All-American Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Lance Simpson and Jackson Herrington were named to the list after the 2025-26 season.
To be eligible for Cobalt All-America Scholar nomination, a player must be a sophomore, junior or senior, both academically and athletically, and in NCAA Division I, II, III or NAIA, has received their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA.
In addition, a player must participate 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds and have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, while maintaining a minimum cumulative career grade point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good
standing at their college or university.
Simpson, a redshirt senior for the Vols in 2025-26, had one of the best individual seasons in program history. With a unanimous Third-Team All-America selection, he became the seventh man in program history to earn multiple All-American honors.
A Knoxville, Tennessee native, Simpson ended his final season with a 70.11 season scoring average, the third best mark in Tennessee history. His career scoring average of 71.11 ranks third in program history. Simpson's 26 rounds of par or better during the 2025-26 season ranked second in program history. He is also second in program history with 80 rounds of par or better.
Herrington, a sophomore during the 2025-26 season, competed in the 2026 Masters Tournament and the 2026 U.S. Open.
While competing for Tennessee, Herrington totaled 16 rounds of par or better to accumulate a 71.35 scoring average. He had two top 10 individual finishes in his second season with the Vols as he tied for fifth place at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate. Herrington also finished tied for sixth place at the Cabo Collegiate.
