Former Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton III was waived by Dallas on Monday following the NFL preseason. He rejoined the Cowboys and is on their practice squad.
Milton III played for the Vols from 2021-23 and appeared in 29 games.
Dallas also signed former Tennessee offensive lineman Wanya Morris to its practice squad. He played at Tennessee from 2019-20 and transferred to Oklahoma after the 2020 season.
In addition to Milton III and Morris, the Cowboys signed the following players to their practice squad: defensive back Reddy Steward (Troy), running back Israel Abanikanda (Pittsburgh), linebacker Justin Barron (Syracuse), defensive tackle Tommy Dunn (Kansas), wide receiver Jordan Hudson (SMU), offensive tackle Marcellus Johnson (Missouri), defensive back Derion
Kendrick (Georgia), wide receiver Anthony Smith (ECU), tight end Michael Trigg (Baylor), linebacker Isaiah Land (Florida A&M), center Nick Leverett (Rice), linebacker Curtis Robinson (Stanford), defensive tackle Adedayo Odeleye (no college), defensive tackle Elijah Garcia (Rice) and tight end Mitch Van Vooren (St. Norbert).
Dallas will kick off its regular season at the Giants on Sept. 13. Kickoff is slated for 8:20 p.m. EDT at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey (NBC).
