Memphis defeated Atlanta, 132-123, Monday in a NBA preseason opener at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. 10,923 were in attendance.
Former Vol Jahmai Mashack totaled two points, one rebound and one assist in eight minutes for the Grizzlies. He converted 1-of-1 field goal attempts.
GG Jackson was Memphis' leading scorer with 14 points. Jaylen Wells and Ty Jerome scored 12 points each, while Cameron Boozer finished with 11 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals for the Grizzlies.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker led the Hawks with 14 points, while Kingston Flemmings added 11 points for Atlanta.
Memphis led for 73 percent of the game. The Grizzlies' largest lead was 23 points. Atlanta outrebounded memphis, 45-41.
The Grizzlies will next play
Wednesday versus Orlando. Tipoff between Memphis and the Magic is slated for 8 p.m. EDT at FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee.
