The Giants signed wide receiver Jalin Hyatt to their NFL practice squad on Monday after being waived Sunday.
The former Vol changed jersey numbers after being placed on New York's practice squad. Hyatt was No. 13 and is now No. 81.
New York wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. will wear No. 81 after making the Giants' initial 53-man roster.
"I know he knows he accomplished a lot," New York head coach John Harbaugh said Monday. "It's kind of unheard of, in some ways, to be away for so long to come back. I don't know how many times this has actually been done. It would be interesting to see, but the odds were probably against him, I would say. He overcame the odds and did it.
Beckham Jr. played for the Giants from 2014-18. He has also played for Cleveland
(2019-21), the Rams (2021), Baltimore (2023) and Miami (2024) in the NFL.
The Giants selected Beckham Jr. in first round of the NFL draft in 2014 (No. 12 overall).
