The Major League Baseball trade deadline is Aug. 3 at 6 p.m. EDT.
Ahead of the MLB trade deadline, the Mets traded pitcher A.J. Minter to Minnesota for infielders Bruin Agbayani and Billy Amick, according to Anthony DiComo and Matthew Leach of MLB.com.
Amick was Tennessee's third baseman during the Vols' 2024 national championship season. He appeared in 65 games, including 65 starts, in his only season with the Vols in 2024. Amick recorded a .306 batting average, 23 home runs, 65 RBIs, 67 runs, 29 walks and three stolen bases.
The Vols also won the Southeastern Conference East division, the SEC regular-season championship and SEC Tournament in 2024.
Amick was selected by the Twins in the second-round (No. 60 overall) of the 2024 MLB draft. He transferred
to Tennessee after playing at Clemson from 2022-23.
Amick committed to the Vols over Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and Texas A&M.
