Tennessee and Auburn will renew their football series on Saturday at Neyland Stadium.

On Sept. 28, 1985, the Vols defeated No. 1 Auburn, 38-20, in Knoxville. The win is Tennessee's last victory over a No. 1 ranked team in the AP Poll. 94,358 were in attendance for the upset.

Tennessee led the Tigers, 24-0, at halftime.

Tennessee quarterback Tony Robinson completed 17-of-30 passing attempts for 259 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions. He also totaled 33 rushing yards on six attempts.

Keith Davis led the Vols with 102 rushing yards on 13 attempts. Charles Wilson also scored a rushing touchdown for Tennessee.

Tim McGee led the Vols in receiving yards (163). He totaled six receptions, including one touchdown. Joey Clinkscales, Vince Carter

and Eric Swanson also recorded touchdown receptions against the Tigers.

Auburn running back Bo Jackson totaled 80 rushing yards on 17 attempts before leaving the game due to injury in the third quarter.

Auburn scored all 20 of its points in the fourth quarter after Jackson exited the contest.
