A top 15 SEC football game will be contested Saturday between No. 1 Texas (3-0) and No. 13 Tennessee (3-0). Rankings reflect the Week 4 US LBM Coaches Poll.
Kickoff is slated for noon EDT at Neyland Stadium (ABC). ESPN's "College GameDay" will also broadcast live ahead of the SEC matchup.
The Vols and Longhorns will face each other for the first time since Jan. 1, 1969.
Texas leads the all-time football series against the Vols, 2-1. All three games were contested on New Year's Day at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas.
Texas won the last meeting, 36-13. The Longhorns' other victory against Tennessee was on Jan. 1, 1953, winning 16-0.
Tennessee defeated the Longhorns, 20-14, on Jan. 1, 1951 in the first game of the series. The Vols outscored Texas,
13-0, in the second half. Hank Lauricella totaled 131 rushing yards on 16 attempts for Tennessee. Andy Kozar also totaled 92 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns on 20 attempts for the Vols.
