Seattle (1-0) defeated New England (0-1), 13-10, on Wednesday at Lumen Field in Seattle, Washington. 68,744 were in attendance for the 2026 NFL regular season opener.
Wednesday marked the first game as Seattle's defensive quality control coach for former Tennessee quarterback Keller Chryst.
The former Vol is in his second season with Seattle after working with the Seahawks' support staff and overseeing special projects and football analysis in 2025.
Chryst and Seattle won Super Bowl LX last season.
He played one season for the Vols in 2018. Chryst appeared in eight games and completed 23-of-51 passing attempts for 450 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. He was a recipient of the 2018 Tennessee My All Award at the Vols' end-of-year banquet.
Chryst transferred to Tennessee from Stanford ahead of the 2018 season. He went 11-2 as Stanford's starting quarterback, including 6-0 during the 2016 season.
Prior to Seattle, Chryst served as an analyst at Iowa from 2023-24. He was also a graduate assistant at Wisconsin from 2021-22. Chryst worked with the Badgers' defensive backs in 2021, while being exclusively with quarterbacks in 2022.
