Tennessee announced future football scheduling updates on Wednesday.
The Vols will kick off next season against Georgia Tech at Neyland Stadium on Aug. 28, 2027. The nonconference matchup was scheduled for Week 2 on Sept. 11, 2027.
Tennessee will also face West Virginia on Aug. 26, 2028 in the Duke's Mayo Classic at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The Tennessee-West Virginia game was scheduled for Sept. 2, 2027. The Vols' nonconference, in-state game against Chattanooga, scheduled for Sept. 16, 2027, will now be contested Sept. 2, 2027.
Tennessee's schedule changes align with the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision Oversight Committee's rule proposal in August. The 2027 season will begin the final weekend of August, currently
designated as Week 0, and is slated to end the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
2027 will mark the seventh season for the Vols under head coach Josh Heupel.
